Solutions for Odour Problems in the Gastronomy Industry
Unpleasant odours from grease traps, floor drains, and other areas can be a nuisance for guests, staff, and neighbours. COALSI provides well-engineered solutions to effectively reduce odours – even in existing systems.
Challenges
When odours become a problem – for guests, residents, and staff
Odours are particularly unpleasant in the catering industry: they are quickly noticed by guests and can lead to complaints. Grease traps, in particular, can be a source of odours—especially during periods of heavy use or high temperatures.
Odours from grease traps
Organic residues and fats can lead to unpleasant odours that escape into the surrounding area via the shaft.
Complaints from guests & residents
Odour-laden exhaust air from kitchens and catering areas can escape into the surroundings via ventilation systems and be detected there.
Access for maintenance and cleaning
The grease trap must remain easily accessible for inspection, maintenance, and cleaning.
Retrofitting without complex structural work
An odour control solution should be as easy as possible to integrate into existing shafts and systems.

Our solution
Reduce odours. Maintain access.
With the COALSI "filter system with tension ring," the odour filter system can be retrofitted into existing shafts. The tension ring is mounted inside the shaft, and the odour filter is simply hooked into it. This allows the solution to be retrofitted without the need for drilling, dowelling, or welding. For maintenance and cleaning of the grease separator, the filter can be easily removed and then hooked back into place.
Simple retrofitting in existing shafts
No structural modifications required
Activated carbon mat filters odour-laden air
A sustainably pleasant environment for guests, employees, and local residents
Odour filter easily removable for maintenance and cleaning
