Solutions for odor issues and tank covers in Sewage treatment plants
COALSI provides sophisticated solutions for contaminated exhaust air, odor problems, and wastewater tank covers – ranging from compact filters to high-performance large-scale filter systems and flexible covering systems.
Challenges
When exhaust air and open tanks become a burden.
Wastewater treatment generates odor-intensive and sometimes corrosive substances that can escape into the surrounding area via exhaust systems. At the same time, open tanks and technical areas must remain safe and permanently accessible. Depending on the application, different solutions are required – from targeted exhaust air filtration to covering wastewater tanks. COALSI offers solutions for various air flow rates, load levels, and structural requirements.
High odor levels
Wastewater treatment can produce odor-intensive substances such as hydrogen sulfide, which can impact the surrounding environment.
Impact on employees & residents
Unpleasant exhaust air can affect the working environment and lead to complaints from neighboring residential areas.
Large air flow rates
Depending on the application, wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations require powerful filter systems capable of treating large volumes of contaminated exhaust air.
Corrosion and material stress
An odor control solution must be integrated as effectively as possible into existing exhaust air systems and plant structures.

Our solution
Filter exhaust air. Cover tanks. Reduce odors.
COALSI offers solutions for various requirements in wastewater treatment plants – from targeted filtration of contaminated exhaust air to covering large wastewater tanks. Different filter systems are available for various air flow rates and odor levels. Depending on the application, the systems can be operated passively or actively and tailored to specific requirements. With FlexiGrid, even large wastewater tanks can be covered in a corrosion-resistant manner. The system can be used as an alternative to traditional gratings. Depending on the design, a slip-resistant version is available. For applications where odor emissions need to be reduced, FlexiGrid can also be used as a nearly gas-tight cover.

Frequently asked questions about solutions for
Sewage treatment plants
This depends primarily on the air volume flow, odor intensity, and the specific application. COALSI offers a variety of filter systems – from compact block filters and multi-chamber filters to high-performance large-scale filter systems like the Volumenmax. Together, we will determine which solution best suits your facility.
Yes. Depending on the application, COALSI filter systems can be operated either passively or actively. In an active configuration, the contaminated exhaust air is directed specifically through the filter system. Which operating mode is appropriate depends on local conditions and the required air volumes.
Selection and sizing are determined by factors such as the existing air volume flow, odor intensity, and installation requirements. Based on these criteria, the appropriate filter system is selected. Our team is available to assist you in evaluating your application.
Yes. FlexiGrid can be used for applications where open basins need to be covered to reduce odor emissions. Depending on the configuration, the cover can be made nearly gas-tight.
